Faraday Grid is establishing a new R&D team in Washington D.C. as part of continuing the development of our platform for the energy system of tomorrow. We our looking for highly driven individuals who will bring diverse expertise and experience to our collaborative design process. 

As part of our team, you will:

  • Use advanced simulation tools to produce high fidelity models of complex dynamic systems
  • Complete sophisticated conceptual design of multi-module devices, based on functional and non-functional requirements
  • Analyse test data and iterate design schematics for improvement
  • Design and implement advanced control algorithms for complex systems
  • Undertake lab-based testing of systems against simulations and hardware devices
  • Work collaboration projects with partner universities in UK, US, and Australia

Successful applicants will have skills ranging in the following areas:

  • Advanced systematic and logical problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of the application of systems engineering
  • Ability to engineer elegant solutions to allow the processing of large amounts of data on tight timescales
  • Programming experience in multiple object-oriented or functional languages
  • Ability to work with highly complex, scalable algorithms
  • Competence in software unit testing and integration testing
  • Competence static and dynamic simulation modelling and analysis
  • Power systems and electrical knowledge and design ability 
  • Knowledge of various software platforms including Matlab Simulink
